A freestanding vanity unit can be placed anywhere and moved around if you wish. As it is not mounted on the wall, there is no limit to how heavy the things you store in it can be, which is an advantage. However, it takes up a lot of space and it can be difficult to clean underneath.
A wall-mounted vanity unit is mounted on the wall and needs to be connected to the floor drain. As it is not on the floor, it is easy to get underneath with a vacuum cleaner and mop. Check whether suspension fittings are included.
