Game on

Buying Christmas gifts for a gamer is notoriously tricky. And that mainly has to do with the fact that much comes down to personal preference in terms of set up. So although you may be tempted to get them a new mouse, keyboard or screen, it's better to leave this up to them (a gift card goes a long way). But if you want to get them something for Christmas we have plenty of tips on things that they are sure to appreciate and have much use of.

Keep it practical

Although buying the bigger gaming components might be a bit of a gamble. There are some sure-fire things every gamer needs. If they play on a console then buying storage expansion is a great gift, as you can never have too much storage capacity. Long gaming sessions mean that you don't want to break focus so a mouse pad with wireless charging is a great gift to make sure the mouse doesn't die in a critical moment.

Accessories

There are some gaming accessories that are great and not dependent on personal preference. For example a great pair of headphones is never wrong, our favourites are Sennheiser audiophile or Beyerdynamic DT 990, they aren't necessarily pure gaming headphones but they are great headphones with better audio quality. If the person is looking to get into streaming then a great streaming camera and a microphone are great things to get them started. A fun thing to get is a VR headset so they can experience their favourite games in virtual reality.

RGB and lights

RGB and lights are a great way to really make a gaming set up more fun and personalised, and as it doesn't fulfil a practical function you can go to town on both! How about a cololight aurora or just a nanoleaf set to really give their gaming room that cool cyber feeling?

Merch

Know the person in question's favourite game? Then you just hit a goldmine! The merch industry is massive when it comes to gaming. Here you can find everything from clothes, mugs, vinyl records to toys like lego and funk pop. You name it! There's an endless choice of options and something they're sure to appreciate.

Games

You can never have too many games. And with such a high release frequency of new games these days, they're sure to appreciate something new to play. Just make sure to find out which games they already have (don't forget to check the digital games as well).

Subscriptions

Not sure which games they want? Then a safer bet might be to get them a subscription to one of the platforms they play on, as they then will have access to a library of games. You can get subscriptions for Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, Stadia, Steam etc.

Comfort things

Gamers spend many hours sitting still infront of a screen which means that they can always use things to make the long gaming sessions more comfortable. Like some warm socks or a big tumbler for long gaming sessions. A mini fridge that looks like an Xbox Series X is great for the lazy gamer who wants easy access to some mid-session gaming snacks.
