Rain Jacket / Rain Coat, Material: Carbon, Polyester, Waterproof
It’s important that the jacket breathes, so you don't get sticky when warm. Polyester is a good choice if you want to e.g. cycle to work in the jacket. A galon jacket does not breathe, and is therefore better suited for quieter activities, such as a walk or a festival. On the other hand, a galon jacket is both durable and rain resistant.
The most important thing, of course, is that the rain jacket keeps you dry. Its level of waterproof properties is measured in water column – the higher the number, the more waterproof the jacket is. Most can handle light rain or short periods of heavy rain. But if you want to spend a long time outdoors in heavy rain, for example while hiking in the mountains, you should invest in one that is properly waterproof.
We recommend at least a water column of [10,000 mm] or more if you are going to have a backpack or sit down, as the pressure has an effect. Here you can read more about waterproof levels. It’s also good if the seams are taped and the pockets can be closed properly, so that it doesn't leak.
