Three things to consider before buying knickers

All fabrics have different pros and cons. Panties should be made of an airy fabric to avoid irritation. Cotton is a good fabric for everyday use, as it breathes and is kind to the skin, unlike polyester. It can also be washed frequently. Polyamide is also a popular fabric, as it is soft and smooth.

When you exercise, on the other hand, workout panties in functional fabrics are a good choice. They are designed to dry quickly and stay in place without chafing. Polyester wicks away moisture when you sweat, so you stay dry throughout your exercise session. Also double-check that the panties do not have seams that itch under your tights.

The panty style that suits you best depends on several things, including your body type, what you do during the day, and what clothes you will be wearing. But there are some good things to look for, no matter the model:

  • Panties with an elasticated waist keep them in place all day, so you don't have to pull them up if they slip down.
  • Elastane panties are particularly elastic, which means that they can fit snugly on your body under e.g. a tight dress.
  • Panties with built-in period protection provide extra security on days when you bleed.
  • Invisible panties are designed to not be visible through your clothing. They are soft and have an invisible seam, so you don't have to worry about unflattering lines.

When you've found your favourite knickers you don't want to ruin them in the washing machine, do you? Cleanipedia has written a guide to how to best wash your underwear.
