WOOD STOVE

FAQ

Buying a wood burning stove can vary widely in price depending on size and capacity.

There are many cheaper log burners available that will fit into most existing fireplaces. The average wood burner installation with a chimney flue costs between £1500 and £2500 in the UK. In case you don’t already have a chimney, you can also purchase a flue kit for a wood burner supplied and fitted for about £2000.

How often you should soot your stove depends on how much you use it. If your stove is used daily, and/or you dispose of around 400–500 kilos of wood each year, it should also be sooted annually. If you use your chimney less frequently, you can have it sooted every 3-4 years. If you are unsure, you should consult your local chimney sweep.
