Three tips when buying tweezers

Tweezers come in a variety of tip shapes. The more pointed the tip, the greater the precision.

  • A slanted tip makes it easy to grip fine hairs and pluck them one at a time.
  • A pointed tip is particularly good for plucking ingrown hairs or pulling out splinters. Their precision also makes these tweezers an excellent choice for nail design.
  • A round tip reduces the risk of accidentally piercing your skin when plucking your eyebrows.
  • A straight tip is great for applying false lashes. You can also use it to pluck your eyebrows, but it’s easy to pluck several hairs at once.
  • A claw-shaped tip helps you reach what you want to grab from multiple angles.

Sometimes it’s impossible to get hold of a small splinter that’s worked its way under the skin. It’s even more difficult if you need to hold a magnifying glass or a torch in your other hand. Go for tweezers that have both a built-in light and magnifying glass to make it easier to see.

Most tweezers are made of metal, which works in virtually any situation. But if you intend to use the tweezers for changing button cell batteries, it’s important to choose plastic tweezers to avoid short circuits.
