CC CREAM

FAQ

It’s a tinted moisturiser that works as a sunscreen, foundation and moisturiser. The CC in CC cream stands for ‘colour correcting’. CC cream focuses on targeting discoloured areas of your skin, evening out dark spots and red patches. Many use CC cream as an alternative to foundation, as it’s lighter and less likely to clog your pores.

CC cream can be used on its own or combined with concealer to cover up extra prominent blemishes.

  1. Wash your face and apply any additional moisturiser, serum or sunscreen. Primer isn’t necessary under CC cream, in fact it can keep the skin from absorbing and hydrating your skin.
  2. Use your clean fingers, a foundation brush or sponge to apply the cream evenly on your whole face. Pay extra attention to areas you want to conceal or correct like spots in your t-zone or dark circles under your eyes.
  3. You can always compliment your CC cream with other makeup products like, powder, foundation or highlighter for a full face look, but it works just fine on its own.

If you’re planning on staying in the sun for a longer period of time it’s always a good idea to apply additional face sunscreen before you apply your CC cream.

BB stands for ‘blemish balm’ or ‘beauty balm’ and is very similar to CC cream. The main difference is that it provides a bit heavier coverage than CC cream and it doesn’t address colour variations in your complexion to the same degree.
