Three tips to find the best after-sun lotion

For optimal skincare, use different after-sun lotions for your face and body. Face lotions have a lighter formula and are less sticky than body lotions. Apply them after your serum in the evening, instead of your usual night cream.

There are many different types of aftersun moisturisers – choose one that suits your skin type and personal preferences best:

  • Gel. Refreshing and non-sticky. For an extra cooling feel when applying, keep it in the fridge.

  • Mousse. With a light consistency, it's perfect for soothing sore and red skin.

  • Spray. Lightweight and easy to apply. It dries quickly without any sticky residue.

When your skin turns red from sun damage, an after-sun moisturiser helps cool it down and reduce inflammation and discomfort. The moisturiser never prevents sun damage though – it restores moisture to the skin and has a pleasant cooling effect.

When shopping for the after-sun moisturiser, go for ones with Aloe Vera, eucalyptus, or menthol for added relief – but be careful if you have sensitive skin. Check our selection of after-sun moisturisers with a cooling effect.
