Some serums contain silicone, which forms a protective shield around each strand, leaving hair shiny and supple. But silicone can be difficult to wash away, and can block nourishing products such as conditioners and hair masks. That’s why you should avoid using silicone products if you have curly hair, which needs to be hydrated to keep curls bouncy.
