| Description | Denmark's great hero during the Great Nordic War was Commander Peter Wessel, called Tordenskjold. After numerous naval battles, his frigate returns to Copenhagen, where Tordenskjold stays with the wigmaker Kresten Thøgersen. Thøgersen's daughter immediately falls for Tordenskjold, who is coveted by many women. Not least by Countess Elisabeth, who quickly impresses the commander. But there is more behind Elisabeth's approaches than Tordenskjold has any idea. And soon she threatens to get between him and his true love: the lake and the fight out there. Master instructor George Schnéevoigt directed "Tordenskjold Går i Land" in 1942 - a tribute to the greatest war icon in Danish history at a time when the German occupation otherwise set the agenda. Hans Kurt plays the national hero Tordenskjold surrounded by beautiful, dangerous women played by Lis Smed, Karin Nellemose and Ingeborg Brams, and Nordisk Film saved neither equipment nor money in this rare Danish war drama.
