WEATHER STATION

FAQ

As a rule of thumb, weather stations have two main parts: the main unit and a sensor. The sensor is placed outside to gather data about the weather, which is then sent to the main unit. The weather station has different sensors for temperature, air pressure, humidity, wind speed, and rain.

The most important thing is to place the outside sensor as far away from potential sources of heat as possible. This ensures that the sensor makes an accurate temperature reading. The best idea would be to place the temperature sensor over an open area of grass protected from rain and direct sunshine.

If you’re particularly dedicated to weather readings, you can purchase a weather station with separate sensors for different kinds of readings. The sensor placement for wind speed readings is not always the best placement for correct readings of temperature.

Weather stations are one of the most reliable tools on the market for readings of the current weather. A lot of weather stations also include a forecast function, but these are not quite as reliable as current readings. They are at least no more accurate than the ones from weather institutes, such as Met Office. For the best possible forecasts, you will therefore have to keep relying on the weather presenters.
