Three tips when buying an irrigation system

Make sure you know which watering type you want for your system. When you know this, it will be easier to choose a product. Perhaps you need both of these types?

  • Spray irrigation lets you cover large areas, and this irrigation type is ideal for large growing areas with small plants. Here you can use circular sprinklers or button sprayers.

  • Drip irrigation uses arrow drippers or button drippers. Irrigation is slow and saves water. Watering also takes place deep down. This type of irrigation works well with tomatoes, bell peppers, strawberries and pots containing large plants.

When you know which types of irrigation solutions you'll be using, you should calculate whether the water pressure is enough to handle the load. If your water ejector has a pressure of 2,000 litres per hour, this will be enough to operate about 20 circular sprinklers or 1,000 arrow drippers.

It should of course be easy for you to control and adjust the irrigation system. A water control unit is a simple solution, and you can get one that supports one or more irrigation loops. Some also allow remote control via a smartphone app.
